Oceanside Family Session

John & Lindsay
If you want a wedding with the most personality, sweetest moments, and a boatload of fun, here it is! John and Lindsay’s wedding day was filled with such beautiful intentionality. With a beautiful morning ceremony nestled in the quiet redwoods, the two exchanged their vows in front of family.

Sunset Cliffs Engagement
When it came to Shannon & Cam’s engagement session, I could not imagine a better spot for them than the Sunset Cliffs. San Diego is such a special place for so many people, and revisiting with the intentions of celebrating this sweet couple made it all the better.

Joelle & Lois
What better way to repurpose wedding flowers than an outdoor installation for family sessions? This stunning Walnut Creek Mommy & Me session was blessed with the most beautiful golden sunset!

A truly Vegas Elopement
Sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas!

May the force be with you
Bright suns my friends! In honor of May the Fourth I had to share some of my favorite photos paying homage to our classic space opera. While I may not be the most intense Star Wars fan you could encounter, the original trilogy is so near and dear to my heart.

Planning the perfect family photoshoot
When I was young, my mom hung up a brand new skirt in my room and said, “Look at how beautiful this is!” To my 5 or 6 your old brain, it undoubtedly was the most incredible piece of clothing I had ever seen. My mom explained to me how special this skirt was and that I was going to get to wear it on a fun family outing. My siblings were not shy to the idea of family photos, visiting the JCPenney Photo Studio in our hometown mall on a regular basis, but my mother’s clever tactics of setting our expectations for a fun day wearing special clothes always set us four kids up for success.

What does community over competition really mean?
If you’ve lived in the creative industry for more than a day, I’m sure you’re familiar with this phrase. No matter how you feel about it, it seems these words always float to the top of any conversation between two photographers. Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.

Advice to my younger self
If I could go back, there’s (of course) so many things I would have done differently. Week after week I felt like I was flying by the seat of my pants, and yet by the full grace of God I seemed to learn a lesson before I needed to put it to use. I feel as if my business has been handled tenderly with kid gloves, with no major failures or road blocks. While I’m naturally the kind of person to find solutions and keep moving forward, I will be the first to admit that 2020 was not the adbomidable year for me as it was for so many people. That being said, of course there are things I desperately wish I could tell my younger self! If you are in the beautiful bloom of a new business, or just need a fresh perspective, I hope this advice can be of some help to you as well!
