My Approach
I’ve seen a lot of different approaches to Boudoir photography. While I don’t believe there is anything wrong with ‘having your sexy moment’ or ‘building confidence’, I think there is a lot more to showing off a bit of skin.
The bible is extremely clear that we have been fearfully and wonderfully made. We were meticulously and thoughtfully crafted as individuals by a master artist. No matter how you might feel, your body is a work of art!
God isn’t the only one who feels this way. I’m sure your husband does too! In the Songs of Solomon, he sings praises to his beautiful wife about her whole body! He doesn’t skip a detail, adoring her hair, her skin, even her neck. God gave us an entire book of the bible to celebrate all aspects of marriage, and our physical bond with our husbands.
My goal as your boudoir photographer is to showcase your beauty from both of these perspectives! I want you to see how incredibly designed you are, feel celebrated in the body God has given you, and yes, have a sexy moment!
FAQs
Will anyone else see my photos?
Until I pass them off to you, absolutely not! My editing is completely in private, and all the files are in locked folders. You will create a password for your album upon delivery. I share photos only with your permission, usually used for marketing pages such as this. (For ladies eyes only!)
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! If it will make you feel more comfortable I totally recommend a hype girl.
Is there going to be nudity?
This is 100% up to you. Most girls decide during the shoot, and some know beforehand whether they want it or not. When planning your shoot remember that comfort is key! I like to make a progression of your outfits like this: cute, sultry, sexy. Start cute, maybe your husbands t-shirt (We all know they love this) or a cozy sweater. Once we’ve warmed up we will move to a sultry outfit, a nice robe with something fun underneath. Lastly pick something sexy, however that feels to you.
Can you photoshop that out?
I will do some light retouching- removing distractions, color correcting, and light skin smoothing, however I do not incorporate heavy photoshop into any of my boudoir photos. Your skin tells the story of your life so far. Wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars are all here to stay, and I want to celebrate that. You can let me know if you’re insecure about something specific, and we can definitely work around that, but I am here to capture you right as you are. (In your own beautiful skin!)
Do I need to bring anything?
First and foremost you will need a positive mindset! I understand that boudoir photos can be foreign and intimidating, but I promise this shoot will be so fun.
You can also think about props you might want to bring. I love personalized items that you can steal from your husband. (He probably won’t even know they are missing.) Button ups, jackets, and hats are always a fun touch. I also strongly recommend a floral bouquet! They add such a beautiful natural touch, and lots of color. Single stem roses are lovely too.
If this is a bridal session don’t forget things like your veil, white robes, or wedding day jewelry!

Tips & Tricks for Your Session!
Hype yourself up
Get excited for yourself! Take yourself shopping for some fun new things. There’s no cheat sheet for lingerie, so I highly recommend trying things on. Personally, I picked an outfit for myself, one to surprise my husband, and then I let him pick one out for me.
Remember that this shoot is for yourself first!
Keeping it Simple
I am a big fan of simple and elegant styling. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stick to black and white or neutral tones. I recommend getting your hair done to pamper yourself, but try to stick to a natural style that we can change a bit during your session.
If you’re still feeling nervous, let’s pick a light theme and run with it! It can be as simple as ‘I love making coffee’. Anything to start us off and get you cozy.
Be sure that your finger and toe nails are clean with no chipped polish.
Getting Ready
Definitely steam your little things before the shoot! Cut the tags out of anything you want to bring. Don’t forget to eat and drink the day of your shoot! You won’t want to feel overly tired or dehydrated.
If you’re torn between what items to bring, bring them all! I’d much rather you have more than you need than regret not bringing something.
Several weeks out let’s schedule a phone call or coffee date. We can discuss styling, finalize details, and get excited!
Arrive early, prepared, and ready for some fun on the day of your shoot! Avoid wearing tight clothes so we don’t have any marks on your skin.
I usually bring a speaker to play some music during our session. If you want, you can totally make yourself a playlist to jam out to!
Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question. If you need anything I’m only an email, text, or phone call away!
Find the perfect space
I love in home and outdoor sessions, but here is a selection of some of my favorite studio spaces and hotel rooms if you are looking for something private and unique! You aren’t required to use any of these spaces, and I’m happy to travel anywhere you have in mind. An ideal space will fit your personality, be comfortable, and have access to lots of natural light!
